Good morning, Bootstrap programmers! Tuesday’s Question of the Day is: What did you take away from Day 1 of Bootstrap Academy? Reflect on what you learned yesterday.
i learned knowlage about computers and how to break down simple games into even simpler things like coordinates (thing-position-coordination) (Draven L.)
I got a feeling for what our day is going to be like. I learned the type of of game we are going to make and some of the processes that we are going to be using. Another thing is that i saw that we are going to be reverse engineering the ninja cat game.
Kasey D. I learned where everything is at in umass even though i forgot everything and i learned about cordinates where everything is and what the size of the screen is.
I learned a lot yesterday about this program, although i already new some of the basics before hand i learned about the the College. Also i learned how much it actually takes to build a simple game.
What I learned from yesterday is to observe pieces of a game into more primitive pieces (more basic) by reverse engineering it.Also, I found out that you have to expand your view of what you see during a game and be more specific. Lastly, you can see a game as a grid and you're pretty much filling in all the pieces to the game. Yesterday I had a fun day. :3
I gained a basic understanding of positioning in games based upon a Cartesian plane. Through mapping out x and y-coordinates, you are able to position objects in the game. We also went on a tour of the University Through all of this I got an understanding of what to expect in the program. -Dylan M.
Yesterday I learn that we are going to learn much more than just making a game. I also learned that we will need to use x and y coordinates. -Luis M. R.
I learned that coordinates are involved in the making of games and are important.Things in the game are told to move a certain amount x and y and the values of things can be changed when things happen.
Yesterday we played the game Ninja Cat and learned about movement in a video game based on that game. We talked about x and y coordinates and how they correspond to movement in a video game. -Evy B
what i learned yesterday was how ninja cat was created, not completely though because there is probably a lot more programming then we know of, also i learned that we are going to make a game like ninja cat, my partner and i, Jess have come up with a batman one :) YAY BATMAN <3
I learned that making a video games isn't as simple as it seems aand that it includes xyz axis atimes but 2d includes xy axises only. I enjoy what im learning.-Jeany
I learned that it takes a lot of work to make games which includes graphing skills and things like that and the many mathematical skills to make games in general.-Jeany
